STRUCTURED LITERACY INTERVENTION

Is your child struggling, becoming disengaged or losing confidence in reading, writing or spelling at school?

We are here to help.

Our aim is to enable students to become confident, accurate and fluent readers and writers using evidence-based tutoring support.

We provide one to one, direct literacy instruction in a logical, cumulative and systematic sequence at your child's individual level. This enables your child to achieve success, boost self-esteem and allow for greater accuracy and fluency in reading and writing at their appropriate level.

We work with students from preschool (transitioning to school) to Year 8.

Our tutoring instruction supports children struggling with:

  • Phonological Awareness

  • Phonemic Awareness

  • Alphabetic Knowledge

  • Decoding

  • Encoding

  • Vocabulary

  • Fluency

  • Comprehension

  • Spelling

  • Handwriting

GETTING STARTED

Our first step is to assess your child. An initial assessment will determine your child's specific needs. It identifies and informs the tutor where your child's instruction will begin. Future assessments will be used to monitor and document your child's progress.

Sometimes an initial assessment can be a checkpoint for parents who aren't sure where their child is at and if tutoring is at all necessary.

Diagnostic Assessments:

  • Phonological Assessment

  • Phoneme Assessment

  • Reading (Decoding)

  • Writing (Encoding)

  • Handwriting
